Act 2 Trouble with Maggot Lair

Hi!

I have killed everyting on level 2 of the maggot's lair (Horadric staff
Quest)

I'm standing in front of a slime door and behind it is the stairs to level
three.

However, I can't open the door. I have keys etc.

What am I missing here?

just keep clicking on the door sometimes they are layered in maggot town

You are missing standing close enough. Some of those doors will not open
unless you walk right up to them, make it look like your foot is stuck
under the door (get that close) and it should open when clicked on.

Those slime doors won't open if you are too far away. No key is needed
- just get right next to it.

Try backing up, then clicking/hold on a spot before the door, and drag
your mouse past the door to make your character walk right up to it.

Sometimes a maggot egg is sitting just before the door, behind the
door or a wall where you cannot see it. This can keep you from
clicking on a door - you walk up near it, but cannot get next to it
because of the egg. Smush the egg....

Also, if you don't see the words "closed door" when you hover over it,
there could be a monster on the other side of it. You can try "pixel
hunting" on the door to find a spot that isn't covered.... Or maybe
try casting a curse like "terror" on the door to clear a spot to
click.

I tried it again, and this time it worked. Must have been too far away from
the door.. DOH!

I'm now in Tal Rasha's Tomb.... :-)

I tried it again, and this time it worked. Must have been too far
away from the door.. DOH!
I'm now in Tal Rasha's Tomb.... :-)

Well done Lars. It's a mistake I used to make regularly, click the door from
a half-screen away. It rarely works. You have to walk right up to it, then
click it, easy to do once you have the knack of it. :-)

Click the ground on the other side of the door to where you are going
... then click door.
