what to do with LEM rune

Hi all,

I found a LEM rune on HC ladder (Europe).

I was keeping it safe, waiting to find an
IST (I know it takes time, but I definitely
knows it is doable, has I had *several*
completely legit ISTs in 1.09... And they
went into Ali's ;)

So I was planning on testing that "delirium"
thinggy : LEM-IST-IO (or something like that)
on a helm.

But now I noticed that, *for ladder only*, you
can upgrade with LEM + Ko (which I have both)
an exceptional unique "armor" to an elite unique...

So I'd like to upgrade my shaft...

This would give me something I always dreamt of :
the "elite shaft" :)

But what would happen to this item when ladder will
be reset ?

What would you do with a LEM rune (please, don't
say "Lem-ko-tir" ;) ?

Lem, shaft, a cruel colossus (one socket, sucky 238%
percent enhanced dmg I cubed myself), IK + 2 topaz
for Meph running (I'm poor, just started playing again),
I feel "back in business" :)

P.S : Meph running in NM with a barb lvl 59 without
MH in 1.10 is sure a dangerous, but somewhat rewarding,
thing ;)

I always keep mine nice and safe and completely unused. :P

All possible uses: Runewords: Wealth, Delerium, Passion; upgrading
exceptional armor; cubing into Pul. :) (Oh, and trading or selling. :)

Delerium is a staple of some builds, namely enchantress builds I've
seen, which is a bit stupid if you ask me (how pointless is the build if
it depends entirely on the confuse granted by delerium...) Passion
doesn't look that great. Wealth is nice but skullders is better.
Upgrading exceptional body armor or making a delerium helm seem like the
real uses of it.

How did you find ists before? Hellforge or..?

I never got an IST doing hellforge in hell in 1.09, although
I did the quest lots of time... I don't know if in 1.09 the
probability of IST in hell forge was 1/11 or less then that.

But I know I did the hell quest more than 11 times (with my
chars I mean, I did it helping others too) and never got
an IST this way.

I was part of a team, and I was the MFer of the team. Mainly
Meph runs and some super-unique runs.

So whenever someone of the team (10 people or so, only
hardcore) found an IST, it was for me. Two legit Ali's that
I found myself (Meph run NM if I remember correctly) socketed
with ISTs found by the team.

Thanks for your answer concerning LEM rune, I think I'll use
it to upgrade an exceptional unique armor just before ladder
is reset, so I'll have some kind of "special" item in non-ladder
hardcore (like an upgraded shaft if I don't find something more
gosu to upgrade).

I don't think 1.10 barbs would really need a shaft... Resists is the
way to go in Hell.

My 1.10 lvl 78 throwbarb (ladder SC) solos Hell Meph in about 8
minutes, including finding entrance without MH, using:
lvl 1 leap
lvl 1 leap attack
lvl 1 concentrate
lvl 6 BO
lvl 1 shout
lvl 3 Battle Cry.

I have a measly 1150 life after BO (ha! behold the power of
SoftCore...), but this seems far too much for mephisto: I seem to be
able to tank him almost indefinitely...

gear:
fleshrender exceptional barbed club (crushing blows, deadly strike,
prevent monster heal, open wounds)
Hyperion RalOrtTal
Skin of the Vipermagi
Guillaume's face (crushin blows, deadly strike)
razortail
+15%MF +1 barb skills ammy
chance guards
resists rings
resists/frw 8%MF boots
some various charms of various value.

I know this is SC, but this my point: NONE of my "numerous" SC deaths
in hell were due to physical damage... (except, yeah, one oblivion
knight iron maiding me while I was frenzying but nevermind)

Everytime I died, it was because of massive elemental damage and lack
of resistances in dual throw mode. That's why I went with the ral ort
tal shield on top of the vipermagi.

I mean, Battle cry does the job very nicely (equivalent to a shaftstop
at level 1, with an extra "make your attacks ITD" aspect).

So, this Lem you talk about, I would rather use it to... upgrade
duriel's shell if you can get your hands on one: the Cannot be frozen
mode is MANDATORY.

Heck i find legit Ist's all the time....I didnt think they were worth
anything..i always sell them to the trades people in town....i get over
bourdened with them.

Yeah I hate clicking all over the ground trying to pick up healing
potions and the stupid ists get in the way.
