I have a lvl 60 bone necro with 4 unused skill points. Bone Spear, bone
spirit, and teeth maxed at 20. 1 point in armor, wall, and prison,
clay golem, and golem mastery. zero in curses.
I would like to max either wall or prison. suggestions?

thanks!

Bone Prison, because the monsters can't walk around it.

Hi,

zero in curses.
You should probably spend a few points here. There are some ranged
attackers that can shoot right through your bone things, Dim Vision
can work wonders for those. Also, Decrepify is nice to have.

Regards, Jens.

Too late, he already has a point in Bone Prison, so no Marrowwalk bug for
him (anymore)...

In any case, he should maybe also not overlook the usefullness of at least
one point in Corpse Explosion, and let the rest be handled by +skills
gear...

Patrick.

Ohh I see, then i would put the point into curses, although no curse
raises magic damage it is sometimes _very_ useful to slow down an enemy
with Decrep (e.g. hell duriel) or blind an enemy, especially those spear
cats in hell act5.

my equipment :
+3 bone spells and +2 bone spear wand
wormskull
lidless
vipermagi
+3 bone ammy
2 10% faster cast rare rings
rare belt, boots, and gloves - nothing special

Mara's ammy, Marrowwalk, and soj are good upgrades. What about the belt
and glove?

Marrowwalk have lvl33 Bone Spirit charges, a bug (or a feature) makes
those charges count as a synergy as if you have 33 hard points into
BoneSpirit which is impossible to achieve, as you can only put 20 points
into it.
Taking the "Bone Armor" as an example:
lvl 1 "Bone Armor" absorbs 20 damage, but when using marrowalks lvl 1
"Bone Armor" absorbs 515 damage.

Isn't that ONLY if you don't put a single point into Bone Spirit yourself?

I don't have much experience with Bone Necros, but I think as a bone necro
you're also trying to maximize your +skills in order to pump up the damage
of your bone spells/'life' of your bone wall/prison.

Weapon: The unique wand called 'Boneshade' is much sought after; quite
expensive also.

Helmet: something with +2 (necro) skills: Harlequin's Crest, any other
unique with +2 skills, Delirium runeword, rare +2 necro skills circlet. Or
a nice +3 poison and bone skills circlet with a nice second mod.

Shield: One of the unique necro heads; probably not homunculus, but one of
the other two, so that you have +3 P&B skills from that one.

Armour: Something with +skills. Vipermagi is nice (for the resists), but
Skullders (for MF), or one of the few +2 skills armours (Arkaines, Enigma
(haha), etc.)

Amulet: If I ever found a Mara's Kaleidoscope that would be it. Or a nice
rare +2 necro skills amulet. Or what you have now, a magic +3 P&B skills
with a nice second mod.

rings: SOJ's would be nice, but rather expensive. Or indeed nice rare
rings with a ton of +life/mana/res-all/FCR/etc.

Belt: Arachnid mesh (for + skills, but very expensive/hard to find), or
one of the caster belts.

Gloves: Frostburn (if you need the mana), or some rares if you lack
resists, or Chance Guards if you want some more MF. I looked long and hard
for nice gloves for my skelliemancer, but if you have mana enough, none of
the uniques give you any decent resists, none at all give +necro skills
(you can of course get/gamble rare ones with amazon skills), so I decided
to move to Chance Guards, despite the useless (other) mods on it.

Boots: Marrowwalks are nice for a Summoning necro because of the +2
skeleton mastery, and the option of using the Bone Prison synergy for a
cheap way to 'upgrade' both Bone Armor and the damage of Bone
Spear/Spirit. But there are probably better boots for a Bone Necro; maybe
Silkweaves for the +xx% (xx = 20 or something?) mana it gives you.

And of course an inventory filled with P&B necro skillers with nice second
mods (expensive!) and resist charms to compensate for any missing resists
due to equipping MF gear...

Regards,

Patrick.

Oops! I'm sorry, and I think this had come up earlier in this newsgroup
when talking about first names. In The Netherlands in any case, "Sascha"
is a name only given to girls.

Maybe next time I should refer to others as 'it', so that I can leave the
gender neutral. ;)

My apologies, this was not intentional.

In the US, Sascha is mostly, if not exclusively, a female name. :) In
Germany, it's the other way around (well, you know that :p). The first
time I met a female Sascha, it took me some time to adjust!

M.
It is usually spelled Sasha in the US (at least the Sasha's I knew). Any
time I see a name from Europe......I just use gender neutral grammar when
referring to that person, until I know for sure!

I get enough of that crap about my name, I don't want to do it to anyone
else. Hehe, it happened to me the other day!

I was calling the hospital to confirm an appointment. They ask for my first
name, so I said "Shannon".
She said "You don't sound like a Shannon". Argh!!! That really pisses me
off.

If it's only for the synergy, yes. But as a boner, you also want to
work with the obstacles, so you need real points in Prison in order to
cast it a lot. It's just so much better, both at trapping enemies
even in wide open areas and at leaving small passages in the larger
corridors.
