Hi all,
I want to run multiple copies of Diablo II on the same PC.
I tried to use MULTI program but it doesn't work :(
It creates 2 games ok, cd-keys are ok but when second character is entering
the game (where the first one is waiting) the game crashes.
Then I tried to use D2Loader, but... how to use that ???
If I wanna to run second copy (with commandline parameter "multiclient" and
some others) , game displays error ('your cdkey is using...' blah blah blah)

What I should do ?

I need to run only 2 copies of the same PC, using 1 game copy (1 cdkey) on
Closed BN (i need to transfer some items)

Thanks in advance

Can't not with one CD key. Best thing to do is find a game that has been up
awhile and join, go to a place away from town and drop, then come in with
the other char to pick it up. You have to have a unique CDkey for each
connection to closed Bnet.

Another way is to create a game with a password.
As soon as you get in the game, enter /time in the message window
wait 5 minutes (I usually wait till time + 6 to make sure)
you can then enter/leave the game at will, dropping items.

You risk losing your stuff if bnet crashes, but I haven't yet lost anything,
and I've done *alot* of muling.

of course, if it's something really valuable, it's safest to get a friend to
hold it, and use the trade window to exchange items.

Lost to much stuff that way. It is still no guarantee if some one else is in
the game but better then no one at all.

Diabloii.net has instructions on the site somewhere, there's a dll
replacement that allows you to run 2 copies on the same PC, but it only
works for SP/TCP-IP.

I just had a look, and I couldn't find it, so I've uploaded the one I use:
http://www.h-eight.com/temp/D2gfx.zip
Backup the original one you have in your D2 dir, then copy this one over in
it's place. To run 2 copies, run D2 normally, and then tab to windows, and
navigate to the D2 folder and double click the game.exe (or make a
shortcut). This'll fire up the second D2
